Surprise, surprise...I'm two weeks late posting this. It's not like I've been busy or anything...:)

Lucas - 12-18 month clothes, size 4 shoes

eating habits:
Current favorites (for everyone): Greek yogurt, smoothies, applesauce, cereal with milk, nilla wafers, apples and bananas...but only in whole form.
Ollie loves fruit and cheese. Nolan really likes crackers and toast. Lucas is the most likely to try something new (and like it).
We went dairy-free for a couple weeks to see if it helped with Nolan and Lucas' nighttime behaviors. We kept a food/sleep journal during that time. While we did have some good nights during those two weeks, it didn't make a big difference. I'm sure Lucas is happy because he refused to drink almond, coconut, or rice milk. We're still limiting their milk intake to earlier in the day just in case.
sleeping habits:
We finally got Lucas out of our bed. It took him tossing and turning so much that he fell out of bed for us to realize it just wasn't a good idea for him to be in there with us. So one night when we were both home (such a rarity) we decided he was going to sleep in HIS bed. And if he cried, then so be it (harsh, I know). We weren't going to go get him. I felt like a horrible parent doing it because that first night, he REALLY cried. And it was heartbreaking. But we stuck to our guns and didn't go in there and he eventually fell asleep. The next couple nights, he cried for about 10 minutes then fell asleep. By the fourth night, he would cry for all of 20 seconds and by the time we got to the bottom of the stairs, he had stopped. Now, he doesn't usually cry. Again this whole crying it out thing is tough on Mama and had it lasted more than a couple days, I would not have been able to deal with it. But I knew there wasn't really anything wrong with him...he just wanted to be in our bed.
Everyone had four good nights of sleep last week. All three of them slept through the night. We thought maybe we were turning a corner. Then this week started and we've had three really bad nights with Nolan...the kind where he wakes up and just screams hysterically for an hour until he wears himself out and falls back to sleep. It's awful. Lucas has had a couple bad nights this week as well. Not sure what the deal is but James and I are both really overwhelmed. I called the doctor's office today to see about putting them back on reflux meds to see if that makes a difference. We need things to get better and stay better.

gross motor:
These boys love to run and jump on their little trampoline! And they've gotten really good at going up and down stairs.
fine motor:
Ollie has gotten really good with the fork and spoon. Nolan does a pretty good job as well. Lucas just doesn't seem to have much interested in using a fork. Hopefully he'll pick it up soon.
language/communication (new words underlined)
Oliver - waves, claps, gives kisses, points to his head, nose, and mouth when asked, signs all done, milk, more & says mama, dada, hi, hey, uh-oh, auntie, ball, banana, wow
Nolan - waves, claps, gives/blows kisses, signs all done, milk, ball, eat, thank you & says mama, dada, ball, done, book, baa, uh oh, apple, hot dog, cookie
Lucas - waves, claps, gives/blows kisses, signs all done, milk, more, ball, please, thank you, eat & says mama, dada, done, ball, uh oh, apple, banana, cookie, cupcake, cheese, thank you, more
Lucas seems to be the furthest ahead in speech. He repeats a lot of what we say and has picked up a handful of new words lately. I feel like Nolan has been babbling more but doesn't attempt to repeat what we say. Ollie is content to just say "Hi!", "Hey!", "Hey there!" all day long. He doesn't really say much else. None of the boys say mama or dada regularly which makes me a little sad. I've talked to Infant Toddler Services about their speech and they're not going to evaluate them at this time but may look at them when they're closer to two if we're still concerned.
