20 Months

I'm way overdue on this post.  Better late than never, right?

weights:

Estimates:

Oliver - 26 and change

Nolan - 22 lbs and change

Lucas - Around 22 lbs

sizes:

Oliver - 18-24 month clothes, size 5W shoes

Nolan - 12-18 month clothes, size 4.5 shoes

Lucas - 12-18 month clothes, size 4.5 shoes

teeth (no change):

Oliver - 16

Nolan - 16

Lucas - 16

eating habits:

Not much has changed.  They are still pretty inconsistent with their eating, but overall I'd say they're just typical toddlers.

sleeping habits:

Things have been better.  Not completely better, but certainly better than they were.  We've actually had several nights where we've slept through the night.  We might be crazy though.  We're currently trying to reintegrate Nolan back into the boys' room.  We started today at nap time, which did not go well. Bedtime wasn't much better. Hopefully it won't take long for him to feel comfortable in there.

gross motor:

We're starting to climb a little.  I know lots of people whose kids climb all over everything.  I'm actually pretty glad our boys aren't like that.  It would give me a heart attack.  We did have to get rid of the end table in our living room though because they started climbing onto it and then over onto the couches.  They're getting much better at climbing the steps to go down a slide.  And they are pros on the stairs!  They usually just crawl on the stairs, but will walk if they are holding my hand.

fine motor:

Ollie and Nolan are doing better and better with a spoon, while Lucas still has very little desire to even try.  All three boys have mastered the concept of coloring though they still like to try and eat the crayons.

language/communication (new words underlined)

Oliver - waves, claps, gives/blows kisses, points to his head, nose, eyes, mouth, and belly button when asked, signs all done, milkmore, thank you & says mama, dada, hi, hey, uh-oh, auntie, ball, banana, wow, stinky, yeah, three

Nolan - waves, claps, gives/blows kisses, signs all done, milk, ball, eat, thank you & says mama, dada, ball, done, book, baa, uh oh, apple, hot dog, cookie, banana, cheese, cracker, shoes, baseball

Lucas - waves, claps, gives/blows kisses, signs all done, milk, more, ball, please, thank you, eat & says mama, dada, done, ball, uh oh, apple, banana, cookie, cupcake, cheese, thank you, more, stinky

Nolan has started saying more over the last several days.  All three boys are still very inconsistent with their language.  Many of the words they say one day, then they won't say them again for several days (or ever).  They often still just whine when they want something instead of using their words (even if they know them).  They will sometimes do the sign for what they want, but again that's not always consistent.

favorite things:

Oliver - LOVEY (Croakers), sleeping, being loud, babies, ball popper, blocks
Nolan - push toys, balls, blocks, baseballs

Lucas - push toys, blocks, airplanes in the sky, Pocoyo

special outings/events:

We've gotten outside a lot more since the weather has gotten nicer (park, zoo, etc).  We also went to Block Fest sponsored by Parents as Teachers, Paradise Park with Aunt Jen and cousin Dakota, and the St. Patty's Day parade downtown.

The Cutest Thing - Pt. 4

It's time for another edition of "The Cutest Thing"!  Every few months I like to highlight what I think is the cutest thing about each of the boys.

Ollie - Right now Ollie LOVES babies.  This started when my friend Paige brought over her 8 month old, Ben (side note: he is ADORABLE).  Ollie was so fascinated with Ben and kept rubbing his head and giving him kisses.  Since then whenever we watch our "First Signs" Baby Einstein video and the baby comes up, he does the sign for baby (cradling his arms and rocking back and forth).  He also does it anytime we ask him if he loves babies.  We've given him stuffed animals and told him they're babies and he'll rock them and get the sweetest smile on his face.  It melts my heart!

Nolan - Nolan has finally started to talk a little bit.  Some of his newest words are cookie (gookie), cracker (gaga), and apple (bappo).  There's something about his voice when he speaks that I just adore.  It's so different from his brothers and I just love it.  I will definitely need to get a video of him talking!

Lucas - I can't help but have two "cutest things" for Lucas right now.  One is that he will come up to James or I throughout the day and kiss us on random parts of our body (shoulder, knee, back, etc.) He always has the sweetest smile on his face afterwards.  It's just too cute.  Another thing he's been doing lately is he'll hold his hands up to his mouth whenever he giggles.  You'll have to check out the video to see what I'm talking about it.  It's adorable!
