James and I had the pleasure of watching our Wildcats beat the Tigers yesterday in Manhattan. Despite the horrible weather and the fact that we spent 6+ hours of our day in a car, we had fun. Though, I apparently put off the vibe that do drugs. Here's my (version of the) story:
We got free tickets from our friend Jenni's sister. I guess she had gotten them through work and is not a K-State fan. So we headed down to Manhattan yesterday morning. The drive was terrible. Between construction and game day traffic, it took us over 3 hours to to go Manhattan, when usually it takes less than 2. We got there right as it started to rain. We threw on our panchos and made the best of the gross weather. We went into the game about half way through the first quarter. We were in the bleacher seats and apparently sat in front of some people who didn't like us. Apparently we were being too loud for the people behind us and the lady griped us out. I had been drinking and definitely wanted to go off on her but I used my best judgement and kept my mouth shut. Well, apparently she was still unhappy with us because she went and told one of the stadium managers that I had drugs on me. Seriously...do I really look like a druggie??? Anyway, this guy (who I happen to used to work with at Northview elementary) came up to me and said that "someone" had told him I had some illegal substances on me. I was like..."Um...no." He asked to see in my purse, so I let him. Then he asked if he could look under my pancho, so I let him. Guess what? I did not have anything illegal on me.
Take that, Psycho-Lady-Who-Tried-To-Get-Me-In-Trouble!

I love a good bargain!
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a die-hard K-State fan. Well, one of my favorite places to shop is Kansas Sampler. For our anniversary, I got James a nice Cornhole set. It's wood and unpainted and I decided instead of painting it, I wanted to put K-State Power Cat decals on them and then coat them with polyurethane.
So I was planning on going to Kansas Sampler sometime soon anyway, but I made it a priority today when my friend Lisa told me they were having a super sale.
I ended up getting over $500 worth of clothing for less than $200. For his birthday, I got James a Royal's shirt, a K-State polo, 4 short sleeve K-state t-shirts, and a long sleeve K-State shirt. For myself I bought a long sleeve Chief's shirt, a Royals t-shirt, a pair of cropped K-State yoga pants, a K-State zip up hoodie, a long sleeve K-State shirt, and 4 super cute K-State t-shirts. I will never have to buy KSU apparel again! Though realistically, I probably will.
These 4 items were what I paid for.

Things I'm thankful for - Days 21-24
Day #21 - I'm thankful for music. I got to go to the Lady Antebellum concert Saturday night at the Midland with Lisa, Diane, and Jenna. We had a blast!
Day #22 -I'm thankful that I have a college degree from the best school ever! Go State!
Day #23 -I'm thankful that I pretty much have all my Christmas shopping done.
Day #24 - I'm thankful for my nieces and nephews. James and I got to spend the day today with our niece, Juliana. She just had her 5th birthday so we thought it'd be fun to spend the day together. We bought her a Buzz Lightyear toy for her birthday that she's now OBSESSED with. After a long day of playing games at Dave & Busters, she was all cuddled up in bed with her Buzz as we left to head home. TOO CUTE!

October 13, 2010 - A day to remember...for so many reasons.
Yesterday was one of those days. It was just perfect. I woke up to a phone call from my mom around 6:40AM saying my little sister Rose had had her baby. This put me in a really good mood.
I went to work and our staff had a "tailgate party" in the lounge to celebrate the Sunflower Showdown. The lounge was decorated with K-State and KU decor and we had TONS of food, including the purple popcorn I brought. From the time I got to school to the time the kids came in they played both team's fight songs on the intercom. It was just nice friendly rivalry. So fun!
I ended up taking a half day because James had scheduled our hot air balloon ride. So we roadtripped to Parsons, KS and were fortunate to finally get to go up in our balloon! Words can't express how amazing our flight was. The scenery was beautiful and despite James' fear of heights, we both REALLY enjoyed it.
On our way home from Parsons, we listen to the KU/K-State on the radio. I'll be honest, I couldn't stop laughing. Everytime we scored, I just thought..."This is truly the perfect day!"
And it was.

Apparently Dylan Meier (former K-State quarterback) died this weekend in a hiking accident. How sad!
