Happy Sunday!

Something weird has come over me. I've been in a really productive mood today. I got up this morning and made James and I breakfast. French toast...yum! Shortly afterward, James and his friend Jared went and hid out in the basement to watch football for the day. Meanwhile, I showered, then decided I was apparently in a housecleaning mood. This NEVER happens. So I put away the mountains of clothes that had been sitting folded in the laundry basket or draped over the dresser. Then I cleaned up the bedroom, master bath, and our closet.

I then came downstairs and decided I was sick of looking at the sink full of dishes in my kitchen, so I cleaned the kitchen....only to dirty it up again shortly after when I decided to make the boys a pot of chili. I knew the chili wouldn't be done for a while so I made a couple sandwiches and sent them downstairs. I then decided, despite it being the afternoon, that I really wanted a good cup of coffee. So I played around for a while and then concocted what can only be described as "Christmas in a Cup". Basically it's just coffee, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg...but it was DELICIOUS!

The kitchen has since been re-cleaned. And a load of laundry has been started. Now I'm blogging for the first time in a while and then I have great plans to crack open a book and lay on the couch with the windows open.

It's a Happy Sunday for everyone in the Asher house!

A sign, perhaps?

Okay, so I went to Facebook and the site is temporarily down. I guess this may be a sign for me to quit being lazy and get to work.

Ugh, I'll go get the coffee started.

Why is productivity so hard?

I was pleasantly surprised last night when I got a text from one of my coworkers saying they called off school today because of the weather. Snow days, for many teachers, add some stress.

"When am I going to teach this or that?"

"We'll have to make it up in the spring."

For me...I'm like a kid. I don't think about those things. I think...yay, I don't have to get up in the morning and go to work!

Here's the problem. Grade cards go out Friday. And while I'm mostly finished with them...there's still a bit left to finish up. For whatever reason, I'm having a horrible time buckling down and just doing them. So I told myself, if I got up around 9:00 today (which would still be sleeping in), then I could make myself a cup of coffee, sit around in my PJ's, and finish these grade cards. Well, I've done the get up around 9:00 and staying in my PJ's thing but that's about as far as I've gotten.

I'm sure the better option here, would be to actually get up and start my day. Instead of staying in my PJ's wrapped up in a blanket, I really should probably shower and get dressed. That may help my productivity. But then again, it's a snow day, so I'll probably continue to check out blogs and Facebook.

And if anything, maybe I'll get to that cup of coffee...
